Grounded Possibilities Fellowship

Long time collaborator and friend Derrick Beasley and I have created a fellowship for Black artists in North Carolina that are making work about environmental justice. We designed this program to make space for Black artists with an established practice, from the varied regions across the state. We are looking for folks seeking to deepen their knowledge and engagement around environmental justice concerns in North Carolina. Fellows will receive an unrestricted $3000 to support their work on a project based in their specific region.

The fellowship application has been open for a few weeks and the deadline has been extended through April 5th, 2024. Fellows will be selected in May and the year long program will begin in June with a virtual gathering. An in person convening will happen in late July.
