When the world is destroyed, someone must remake the world. I think you’d call that art.

Raissoneur [rez-uh-nur]

  • Manbites Dog Theater 703 Foster Street Durham, NC, 27701 United States (map)

Black theatre is taking over the Bully City! MOJOAA is presenting the first public reading of my play, Raissoneur as part of the Bull City Black Theatre Festival. Check the website for other festival offerings.

PLAY DESCRIPTION: Raissoneur (pronounced rez-uh-nur) is a character in a play, novel, or the like who voices the central theme, philosophy, or point of view of the work, also known as the voice of the writer. But how can there be one voice when we are such complex and multifaceted people? A one-act, one-woman play with 7 actors, [rez-uh-nur] is a play within a play, a whodunit and a performance piece rolled into one. But ultimately its a story of finding our many parts and making them whole.
