Dreaming of Freedom

We have made it through yet another Black History Month. As the month wraps up, I am struck with an enduring sense of peace; the peace of knowing that it is time. Something in me wondered how Harriet Tubman knew when to go and that led me to this quote:

In 1849 Tubman’s owner, Edward Brodess, needed to sell slaves in order to cover his debts. Minty heard rumors that she and her brothers were going to be sold. According to Sarah Hopkins Bradford’s biography of Harriet Tubman, Minty began praying that her owner change his mind “I prayed all night long for my master till the first of March”

He died and she decided to run.

Well it’s the first of March and this is my prayer; a prayer that will prepare me to get free:

I am ready. I am ready to step out and be the artist I am meant to be. I am ready to build the institution I am meant to build. I am ready to commit my life to the culture. And I am ready to ask for the help that I need.

I have launched a Patreon as a step towards the abundance I believe in. I am scared to be honest. Scared that I am doing too much, taking up too much space, asking for too much. But I have a lot to give and a lot to do. And I can't do it by myself.

Will you join me? Will you co-create a new world with me? Will you believe in abundance with and for me? I hope the answer is yes. You can sign up as a patron here: https://www.patreon.com/Monet

Thank you so much for all the ways you have readied the ground for this journey.
